Terminology
As I read along and discuss with other Buddhists, there are some terminology that I’ve come across that I’ve had to have explained to me, or read about, in order to continue in my growing understanding. I’ll try to organize the terms here as I find them and research them. Rather than write up my own definitions, they’ll be linked to articles/definitions that I find that helped me understand their meaning. There are a lot of people out there who can (and have) explain things much better than I could ever hope to! I’ll be adding them as I find them, so here goes:
- Access to Insight’s posting of the Khanda Sutta
- “Study Guide” for the Five Aggregates, by Access to Insight’s Thanissaro Bikkhu
- A shorter explanation by Bikkhu Bodhi
- The Five Mental Hindrances and Their Conquest: Selected Texts from the Pali Canon and the Commentaries compiled and translated by Nyanaponika Thera
- “Practicing with the Five Hindrances” — Interesting article from Tricycle Magazine on the topic, with Q&A with Geri Larkin
