About This Blog

I’ve re-done this part of this blog a bunch of times, let’s hope I get it right this time LOL!

What I’ve finally decided on is this: I’d like this blog to basically be a space for me to organize the information that I need to make sense of what it is I’m trying to learn about — Skeptical Buddhism.

In doing so, I hope to also provide for those who are on a similar journey a resource and a space to share ideas, information, frustrations, celebration, and more. Whether you’re at or near the beginning of your journey as I am, or you’re further along and think that you can help me (and others who might be reading this), I welcome all to join in and jump in where we are.

Selfishly, I AM starting this blog to help me get my head together. The final outcome I’m hoping for is that this become a good resource for other beginners — those who like myself are not schooled in the least in philosophy or theology — to learn about Buddhism from the Skeptical/Secular point of view.

Thanks for visiting, and please stay tuned! Much more is planned for this blog.

Wow – I’m a software engineer and I can’t figure out the interfaces to WordPress blogs & forums. Yikes!

I wanted to send you a message on the SecularBuddhists forum to say how much I loved your signature quote, but I’m not sure if you can send PMs in that forum. So I followed your profile’s link here and found the blog post that you actually talk about that quote! (was that coincidence or is that your latest post…)

To make a long story short, I love your sig. I would add ‘or fear’ to it for myself since half the time I know I’m telling people what they want to hear at both my expense and theirs. But I think if people realized the truth of your quote, 50% of the world’s problems would just disappear.

Thanks so much for the follow!! I’m looking forward to reading more about you and learning more about your skeptical buddhist research. Sounds pretty interesting! Gina

  • Strange, it won’t let me comment on your last post? Anyways, I was going to say good luck with the vegetarian thing… I won’t ever give up my burgers! 😉

Hm, that’s weird, I’m going to have to make sure I have my comments turned on! Thanks for the heads up 🙂 I’m of the philosophy that things like being vegetarian isn’t for everyone. It’s something that we take on as individuals if/when it is right for us. For some, it may never be right. And that’s just the way it is 😉
